Organisers Comments:
Thank
you to all competitors who attended the East Midlands junior squad event at Bramcote
Hills, the money raised will help fund future squad activities including
enabling us to take a team to next years Junior Inter-Regional Championships
(JIRCS) in Scotland.
Many
thanks must go to all the squad members and parents, many of whom gave up a run
to help ensure the event ran smoothly. We also give our thanks to many individuals
not part of the squad including Ray Barnes who worked on the website and John
Worth on road marshalling. Derek and Jen Gale, and Mike and Liz Godfree helped
with download and results so a huge thank you to them too.
It was
great to have the NOC mince pies and hot drinks available alongside the event
and we must thank Pauline Olivant who helped the coordination between EMJOS and
NOC. Also Mick Lucking did a great job upgrading the map for this event
and Dave Cooke helped us in a number of different ways.
Thank
you also to the new members of the squad who have helped before attending many
training events themselves. The Rennies, Mathers, and Mackervoys
all contributed so much and we hope they continue to be a part of EMJOS. Any
other East Midlands juniors who would like to be a part of the squad should
look out for our future activities: a training day in Derbyshire on Jan 30th,
a weekend in the
Finally two items were left at the end of the event; a SILVA baseplate compass and a set of Vauxhall car-keys. (01509 265150 / dai.bedwell@att.net to claim)
